The registration of a domain name with .gr extension needs an online application by a physical/legal entity to one of the official registrars. The registrar applies for the domain name to the [.gr] Register (Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas Institute of Computer Science), through an on-line system.
After each application, the [.gr] Register is obligated to inform, via email, both you and the registrar for the progress of your application. This means that you will receive updates about
The temporary activation of your domain.
The final approval or rejection of your domain name.
The notification for the renewal of your domain name.
In case the domain name is not registered under your data, you will not receive any of the updates mentioned above since you are not the owner of the domain name.
Your domain name registration is made through our system with an online application. Our system is constantly connected with the [.gr] Register. As a result the time needed for the registration is minimal.
Europlanet, being an official registrar, is in constant communication with the [.gr] Register and the H.T.P.C. without resellers, since domain name reselling is considered a non-typical procedure and without clear legal framework.
H.T.P.C. is responsible for every new decision regarding the selling and reselling of domain names with .gr extension.
